All I can think about at this point is anything and everything that has to do with autumn: piles of leaves to jump in, hot apple cider with cinnamon sticks, pumpkin in just about everything, cute scarves and socks, ducking into cozy places to warm up briefly before heading back out to enjoy the kiss of brisk autumn breezes.

Summer, we can always fall in love again next year.

For now, I have a huge crush on autumn.

We looked at old photos of the metropolises we once called home with their towers reaching up to an unexplored sky. These structures stood tall in a universe full of wonder and dust from an infinite number of stars.

And our breath stopped for a moment, caught in our throats as our tears diluted the remnants of paint that had found their way onto these crumbling archaic testaments revealing entire cities beneath the caked, colored surface as if our tears had the power to unearth memories from the recesses of time.

There is an inherent romance that can be found in the sheer density of the architecture of New York City.

Buildings huddle close like lovers before a nervous first kiss. Their bodies rise up to the sky proud and majestic each one holding dozens if not thousands of stories. If you look intently you can see their bold spirits traveling with the wind carrying the hopes and dreams of those who share their world to soaring heights of possibility and promise.

The silence that engulfs the world after a snowfall is deafening.

All heartbeats, all footsteps, all meandering thoughts and evocations are wrapped in a heavy blanket of snow.

Trees cease reaching for the sky, weighed down by the weight of the sky’s tears of joy and there is scarcely a breath to be heard.

Winter muffles the earth silencing it’s yearnings,

and all at once there is peace.

The sun dances slow with the skyscrapers of the New York City skyline in the summer as the clouds kiss the horizon and haze emanates from the collective heat of these intimate encounters.

I love viewing the New York City skyline in late summer. While the visibility is often limited due to the haze, there is something really exquisite in the way that the foreground skyscrapers appear in this sort of view.

This particular view is facing north. On the right side of the image, notable skyscrapers that can be seen are the Chrysler Building and the MetLife building (which stands over Grand Central Terminal). 30 Rock and Rockefeller Center can be seen straight ahead looking out over Central Park and the buildings that line Central Park West. On the left side of the image, a notable skyscraper that can be seen in this view is the Bank of America Tower (with the pointy tip) which stands next to the green MetLife building and overlooks Bryant Park.
